This page started out with a few words written about how FreeCreditReport.com can trick you into paying a monthly fee for credit monitoring services. I realize the folks at FreeCreditReport.com might think that previous sentence bit libelous. So, let me just clarify that, my definition of the word “free” is “not costing money.” And, my definition of “trick” is “getting me to do something without me realizing I was doing it.”
Here’s the song, which is set to the tune of of the FreeCreditReport.com song. (Note, if you want a credit report that’s actually free, go here: AnnualCreditReport.com)
ScamCreditReport.com
I went online to check my score,
Didn’t see the fine print and now I’m poor…I should have known that nothing was free,
Why would stuff like that have an ad on TV?S-C-A-M,
That spells sca-am…
Credit report dot com, my man!I would call it fraud, but they call it free,
Maybe I’ll call the S-E-C…I wanted Gucci shoes to go with my dress,
Instead I’m stuck with knock offs I got at Pay-less.
